Our Mission: The Kayak Fishing Association of California is a volunteer, nonprofit group dedicated to preserving and expanding kayak fishing opportunities. The Kayak Fishing Association of California is open to anyone in the kayak fishing community. The organization strives to fulfill its mission in part by the following: 1. By organizing and interfacing with government officials, the Kayak Fishing Association of California will act as a contact point and special interest group, both to protect the interests of the kayak fishing community and to ensure the future of the sport. 2. The sum is greater than the parts. When issues arise that threaten the well-being of the sport, the Kayak Fishing Association of California will try to bring together individual kayak anglers, informal and formal kayak fishing groups and clubs, and kayak fishing related businesses in order to speak with a greater voice. 3. The Kayak Fishing Association of California will provide a centralized and independent news and information source to educate and inform the kayak fishing community of important issues that affect access and public perception of the sport. 4. We support the use of available slot and minimum size limits, possession limits, seasonal restrictions and gear restrictions to protect and enhance fish stocks while still allowing low-impact recreational kayak fishing. |
